Just over 100 days ago, the United States had its first case of the Coronavirus, better known as COVID-19. All normal things came to an end. We were forced to be quarantined. Many lost their lives, many lost their jobs, and people of all ages had to come to terms with their mortality. Schools abruptly came to an end; teens missed out on opportunities to attend their proms, grad night, and graduation. Even our place of worship was no longer accessible. This experience has drained us all. Healthcare workers and essential workers are overwhelmed without adequate protective equipment. To date, there have been 118,000 deaths. This event has been an unprecedented time for all of us.
People are afraid and worried about their health and the health of your loved ones. Their financial situation has worsened. They are concerned about losing their jobs or the loss of support services they have always relied on. Ma and Pa shops have had to close the doors to their dreams. Many are experiencing difficulty sleeping and lack of concentration.
It worsened with people with chronic health problems—experiencing deterioration of mental health conditions. They have turned to Increase the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other substances to cope with the new reality we are all facing. We’ve come a long way in our Faith, but times like these are when we start to question things around us.
Solution:
The Book of Deuteronomy 31:8 says
The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
These are the times where we need God the most. We must not refrain from the Word of God. We must hold on to the bond that unites us together, and this bond will get us through the darkest times.
Psalm 23 states Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For thou art with me, thy rod and the staff, they comfort me.
The Lord never promised that we would not face tribulations, but he did tell us that he would always be there for us at all times. Whenever we feel emotionally, financially, mentally, and physically drained, we must remember that this is the time we need to get on our knees and pray. People often say that they can not express how they are feeling, but our God is faithful in that when we do not have the words to say, He knows and understands us.
