During the era of the French revolution, came a period known as the Reign of Terror which lasted about a year (1793 \u2013 1794).<\/p>\n
The Reign of Terror introduced death by Guillotine, an execution device.\u00a0 Maximilien Robespierre, the man who spearheaded the Reign of Terror campaign gave a speech saying, Soon after speaking these words, terror became the order of the day. During the one year period of the Reign of Terror, Robespierre had been responsible for almost 40,000 deaths at the guillotine\u2019s razor edge. In the end, Robespierre himself would fall victim to his own invention; He would be carried to the guillotine to face his execution.<\/p>\n Order is what prevents a system from spinning out of control. And Robespierre believed that for peaceful order to exist, virtue must be tempered by terror. He was wrong. Many forms of government exist in the world, each trying to achieve peaceful order in its own way. There have been treaties, talks, summits, conferences, sanctions, revolutions, and multiple legislation, still, every government comes up short.<\/p>\n Why? Sin is why. It came into this world and since then the peaceful world order God made, was no more. The world has never stopped spinning out of control.<\/p>\n Some have asked, why did God allow this? The answer is, God didn\u2019t. Man made a choice. God hated the choice but honored the freewill he gave to Man. Then the follow-up question becomes, if God is all powerful, why let it continue? Why not put a stop to it? The answer is, he has. Man now has another choice to make: The choice to accept God\u2019s saving grace in Jesus Christ or to remain under the effects of sin created by Man\u2019s first choice.<\/p>\n To choose Jesus Christ means to be a part of the kingdom of God. In the kingdom of God, there is order and peace. There have been many wars fought on this planet, too many lives sacrificed and yet man is no closer to peaceful order.<\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n
\n\u201c\u2026The kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and PEACE, and joy in the Holy Ghost.\u201d<\/strong><\/em>
\nUnlike Robespierre, Christ did not sacrifice any lives to achieve peace. Rather, Christ gave his life so you might achieve a world of order and true peace.<\/p>\n
